Setting Imperial Units and precision in CAD Reader
Many existing buildings, infrastructure, and design standards in the U.S. and UK were created using imperial units. In regions like the U.S., clients and contractors are more familiar with imperial units. Delivering CAD drawings in metric could cause confusion or errors on-site.
To address this, CAD Reader now supports measurement in imperial units, enabling users to perform material take-offs and measurement tabulation directly from drawings created in imperial. Whether you're working with metric or imperial units, measurement can now be done quickly on CAD Reader.
Step-by-step guide:
1. Download and Install
Install the latest version of CAD Reader (v3.7.9.26).
2. Verify Your Version
• Go to About > About Us.

• The version number will appear at the top right corner of the pop up window.

3. Open Your Drawing
Launch CAD Reader and open the CAD drawing file.
4. Access Settings
Click the ‘Settings’ icon on the toolbar.
5. Check Drawing Units
• CAD Reader will auto detect the drawing unit.

6. Default Imperial Units
• If the drawing was created in imperial units, the default unit will be inches (in).
7. Customize Display Units and Precision
