How to instantly count doors and windows in layout drawings?

Manually counting doors and windows across multiple layout pages is time-consuming and visually straining. With PlanForm, you can automate this task in seconds using the built-in search and markup tools.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Open the Drawing in PlanForm

Launch your layout file within the PlanForm.

2. Access the Search Function

Click the Search icon on the toolbar or press CTRL + F.

3. Enter Abbreviations

In the Search Content dialog box, input type codes such as:

• W1 (Window Type 1)
• D3 (Door Type 3)
• SD1 (Smoke Detector Type 1)

4. Set Search Parameters

Choose your preferred page range (All pages, Current page, or Custom range) and search type.

5. Run the Search

Click Search to locate all instances of the selected abbreviation.

6. Mark Results

Select all search results and click Mark Checked to highlight them.

7. Count the Results

From the dropdown menu, select Count Selected Results.

8. Customize Markup

Choose your desired markup color and shape, then confirm.

9. View Tabulated Results

The count will be automatically listed in the Comment List panel.
