How to Scale a PDF Drawing (Metric Units)?
Manually scaling a PDF drawing using a scale ruler can be frustrating, especially when working on large projects with tons of drawings. PlanForm simplifies this process with a digital scaling feature, allowing you to set the scale directly on your PDF drawings in just a few clicks. Whether you're working with metric or imperial units, scaling can now be done quickly and accurately right on the softcopy. Simply click between two known points, enter the actual length, and the scale will be applied automatically with no manual calculations required.
Scaling Using the Metric System
- Open the drawing in PlanForm.
- Click the ‘Scale’ function on the toolbar.
- From the dropdown menu, select ‘Set Scale by Length’.
- Click two points on the drawing that represent a known actual dimension.
- In the pop-up window, if the detected Original Length differs from the actual dimension, enter the true length value between the selected points to define the correct scale.
- Choose the desired unit and precision from the dropdown menu. For metric scaling, the supported units are millimeters (mm), meters (m), and kilometers (km).
- Click ‘Apply Scale’ to finalize the scaling.
