What are the steps for extracting and exporting all images inserted in a CAD file?
This feature enables engineers, safety officers, and construction personnel to mark and annotate specific locations on the CAD drawing where the photos were taken. By integrating visual documentation directly into the drawing, the tool streamlines communication, enhances clarity, and ensures accurate record-keeping for site conditions, progress, or issues.
Steps:
A. Inserting Photos (Mobile/App Version)
- Tap the camera icon and select the location in the CAD file where you want to place the photo.
- Choose images from your device album or take new photos using the camera.
Note: You can add a maximum of 200 photos per CAD file.
B. Exporting the CAD File with Photos
- Tap the top-right menu icon (☰) and select ‘Export’.
- From the pop-up window, select ‘Export drawing & comments.
- Rename the file in the text box if needed.
- Tick the ‘Export Photos and Audios’ option.
- Tap ‘Export’, then share the file via WhatsApp, email, or other apps as needed.
C. Extracting Photos on Desktop (CAD Reader)
- Save the CAD drawing in .crp format to your local disk.
- Open CAD Reader (Desktop Version) on your laptop or desktop and import the .crp file from the saved location.
- Once the drawing opens, click the red camera icon.
- Move your cursor and click the Folder icon at the bottom of the image.
- All embedded photos will be displayed.
- Copy the photos to your desktop for further use.
