How to use the Continuous Measurement function with CAD Reader?
Accurate measurement is foundational to successful architectural and engineering projects, particularly in large-scale commercial or multi-purpose structures. CAD continuous measurement tools empower designers to efficiently calculate perimeters, areas, and critical dimensions across intricate layouts such as retail zones, pedestrian pathways, and atriums in mixed-use developments ensuring alignment with functional and aesthetic objectives.
This article will demonstrate how to use the Continuous Measurement function with CAD Reader. Let’s get started!
I. Getting Started
There are lots of ways to download CAD Reader. You can get the clean and safe version from the official website. Just click this link and you're there in a flash! Get ahead of the game!

II. How to Use It
1.Check the scale of the drawing
Before you make a measurement, you should check the scale of the drawing first.
Click the “Measuring distance” button, select a reference line, If the measurement results are inconsistent, you need to click the “set scale” button to make modifications.
2.Continuous Measuremebnt
Click the "Continuous Measurement" button, hold on the mouse to snap the endpoint of a line, click to confirm.
After measuring all the lines, click the "End" button at the bottom to obtain the measurement data. Click the mouse to place it in the appropriate position.
Notes:
1. During the measurement process, if the point is misplaced, you can click the "Previous Point" button below to take a step back and forth.
2. Click the measured result, you can modify the color or delete the annotation.
3. During the measurement process, it is possible to capture the endpoints, midpoints, vertical points, intersection points, etc. of a straight line.
In architecture and design, mastering the CAD Continuous Measurement function is essential for project success.
